Looking for something new, fun, & different to try this summer?  Join NORCAL Crew for our weeklong "Learn to Row" sessions. Each session is open to boys & girls entering grades 7 - 12. No prior rowing experience required. Learn how to use our land training rowing machines, & spend time on the water learning how to row in our 60 foot long rowing shells. Sweep rowing (one oar per person in a 4-8 person boat) & sculling (2 oars per person in a one-person boat). If you're an 8th grader or High School athlete looking to try a new sport next year, try our summer program to see if you might want to try out next fall for our Novice Men or Women's competitive rowing teams. It's fun in the sun and on the water along the Bair Island preserve. Rowers will be coached by Olympians, World Champions and regionally & nationally ranked coaches.

A 10-year-old nonprofit organization providing quality volleyball instruction for Palo Alto girls. Primary emphasis:
forming competitive teams for girls in middle school,
and development clinics for girls in 4th - 6th grade.
Spring 2010 Clinics, for girls in grades 4 to 6.
Clinic #5 Mondays May 3, 10, 17, & 24
All clinics in Cubberley Gym B, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Cost: $75 for four sessions. Attend a make-up session (no charge) if you miss a session in your clinic. Clinics are geared for motivated athletes interested in learning and/or improving basic volleyball skills. Overall focus: Fun & Fundamentals. Instruction in the areas of passing, setting, serving, defense, and court awareness. Games & scrimmages, too, as the girls develop their skills. Space is limited, so sign up now!

  DAVE SCHULTZ WRESTLING CLUB.
For boys 11 and older. No experience necessary. USA Wrestling card ($35) required. Practices are Wed, 6:30 p.m., & Sat, 10 a.m., at Gunn High School (beginning Mar 15, when high-school wrestling season ends). The club was founded in honor of Dave Schultz, an Olympic Gold Medalist from Palo Alto.
